Walton’s practice nets are ageing and have been in need of refurbishment for some time. As a forward-looking cricket club playing at a high level in men’s, women’s and junior cricket, and aiming for the highest standards for our members, we are keen to offer top-quality practice facilities. We need these for club sessions, for the use of our coaches and for the wider use of all members and visitors to the ground. We want to overhaul the current surface with something that is durable and offers true and even bounce for fast and slow bowlers. As a community club, player development across ages and genders is one of our most important goals. With refurbished nets we will be able to enhance every aspect of cricket at Walton, and allow our young players to develop to their maximum potential.

This project, if completed, would see us retain two lanes in a secure cage, while maintaining two ‘outside’ lanes which are open for community use outside times when the club is using them.

Unfortunately this project is not cheap and cannot be covered by club reserves. As such we are going out to our members and friends with an appeal for contributions towards our net refurbishment project. Any contribution you can afford will be very gratefully received.
