All four of our Saturday XIs play in the AJ Sports Surrey Championship, where they compete against some of the county’s top clubs.
Walton’s 1st XI currently play in Division Two of the Surrey Championship, with hopes of promotion in 2022. League matches are played at our idyllic home, Ashley Park, which is only two minutes from Walton town centre. The 1st XI’s matches are all live-streamed and posted on our YouTube channel.
1st XI Captain: Dan Roberts
Dan joined Walton from Whiteley Village in 2018, before steering the 1st XI to promotion to Division One in his first season at the club. Since scoring a century in his first league game for Walton, Dan’s free-flowing style has helped him accrue 2,952 runs for the club. He has also captained the Club Cricket Conference and the Surrey Championship Representative XIs.
After winning promotion in 2019, the 2021 season saw Walton’s 2nd XI retain their position in Division One of the Surrey Championship. The team also play their home league matches at Ashley Park.
2nd XI captain: Jack Dominy
Jack joined Walton in 2013, starting in the 3rd XI before playing several games for both the 2nd XI and 1st XI. He has taken 345 wickets at an average of 17 for the club, and is looking forward to taking on the 2nd XI captaincy, with 2022 being his first season in the role. Jack has also captained the Trust XI, taking the side to the Surrey Final in 2017.
The 3rd XI have competed in the Premier Division of the Surrey Championship since 2016, where they compete against some of Surrey’s top clubs. They achieved their highest-ever finish of 5th in 2021. The team play their home games at Weybridge Vandals CC.
3rd XI Captain: Ed Hougasian
After joining in 2005, Ed worked his way through the youth teams before making his senior debut for Walton in 2007. Having played over 210 senior games, Ed is one of the club’s most experienced members. He took over the captaincy of the 3rd XI in 2017, and oversaw an extremely successful season in 2021.
Walton’s 4th XI was established in 2012 by our current Head of Cricket Oli Clarke, and has competed in the Surrey Championship since then. Now in Division Four West, the team is crucial in helping junior players assimilate into senior cricket.
4th XI Captain: Jack Bailoor
Jack joined Walton as an 11-year-old, and played his 100th senior league game for the club in the 2021 season. Taking over the 4th XI captaincy full time in 2019, Jack led a young side to promotion in his first season at the helm. A solid opening-bowler, his personal career highlight is figures of 7-3-5-4 against Malden Wanderers in 2015.
The Trust XI are consistently competitive in the Surrey Trust League. With required numbers of junior players, the Trust XI offers our young members the opportunity to play alongside more experienced cricketers. In 2022, the team will compete in Tier One of the Surrey Trust League alongside the region’s biggest clubs.
Trust XI captain: Tricki Wilson
Tricki joined Walton from Sanderstead CC in 2020, where he was a star of their Sanderstead CC TV Youtube channel. Since arriving at Ashley Park, he has established himself as a key member of both the 1st XI and the Trust XI, becoming captain of the latter in 2021. He also spent a summer in Sydney, where his fast bowling saw him adapt well to the Australian pitches.
