1st XI
Walton’s 1st XI currently play in Division 1 of the Surrey Cricket Championship, following promotion in 2022. League matches are played at our idyllic home, Ashley Park, which is only two minutes from Walton town centre. The 1st XI’s matches are all live-streamed and posted on our YouTube channel. The 1st XI finished as runners up in the Club Cricket Conference Cup during the 2023 season.
2nd XI
After winning promotion in 2019, the 2nd XI have retained their position in Division 4 West of the Surrey Cricket Championship. The team play their home league matches at Ashley Park.
2nd XI captain: Mike McDonagh
Mikey first played for the club in 2006, since then he has represented all our senior teams including the Trust leagues. 2024 saw him return as Captain of the 2nd XI. Mikey brings great experience with a total of 5,352 runs for the club, including three league hundreds & twenty-four 50s, as well as three 5 wicket hauls. Mikey is also a member of the club’s Executive Committee as joint Bar Manager with his better half, Gemma.
3rd XI
The 3rd XI have competed in the Division 8 Central of the Surrey Cricket Championship since 2016, where they compete against some of Surrey’s top clubs. They achieved their highest-ever finish of 5th in 2021. The team play their home games at Coronation Recreation Ground.
3rd XI Captain: James Dann
James joined Walton when he was 18 and he has represented the 2nd, 3rd and 4th XIs in league cricket, scoring three league hundreds for the club alongside six 50s. James became 3rd XI Captain in 2022.
4th XI
Walton’s 4th XI was established in 2012 by our current Head of Cricket, Oli Clarke, and has competed in the Surrey Cricket Championship since then. Jack Bailoor shepherded the team to promotion in 2023, now in Division 10 West Central, the team is crucial in helping junior players assimilate into senior cricket and with their new captain they will be looking to continue the progression of the last few years.
4th XI Captain: Dom Rosevear
Dom joined Walton as a 7 year old in 2008, playing age group cricket until he made his senior debut in 2016 for the 4th XI. Since then he has represented the club in all senior teams from 2nd XI to 5th XI, and the Trust XI, scoring over 500 runs and taking more than 40 wickets. Always a committed team member, he has been 4th XI captain since 2024 and is keen to build on the team’s recent success.
5th XI
The Club is entering a 5th XI in competitive cricket for the first time in 2025. The team will be playing in Division 12 West of the Surrey Cricket Championship.
5th XI Captain: Bobs Hey
I joined Walton as an 11-year-old in 2016, and made my senior debut for the 4th XI at the age of 13. Having regularly played age-group and senior cricket throughout my time at the club, I took my first league 5 wicket haul against Chertsey in 2022.
In 2025, I have taken on the role of captain of our brand new 5th XI, which will be a fantastic way for players of all ages to play competitive cricket.
Sunday XIs
Trust XI
The Trust XI are consistently competitive in the Surrey Trust League. With required numbers of junior players, the Trust XI offers our young members the opportunity to play alongside more experienced cricketers. In 2024, the team will compete in Tier One of the Surrey Trust League alongside the region’s biggest clubs.
Trust XI captain: Uddhav Shelvankar
Uddhav joined Walton as a youngster in 2011 and has gone on to represent all senior teams since then. Since his debut in 2017, Uddhav has established himself as a key member of the Trust XI. He took on the Trust XI captaincy in 2024.
